Horse Safe Code of Practice

To allow the adoption of a minimum standard of risk management for horse activities the Australian Horse Industry Council (AHIC), with assistance and funding from the Federal Government, developed this industry Code of Practice.

The “Horse Audit Forms” resource is taken from the 125 page TAFE Procedures for the Delivery of Horse Industry Training document, and provides a much shorter version of their checklists which will be useful for small businesses such as Riding Schools and Trail Riding organisations. It has been provided in a Word format so that it can be easily customized it to suit individual needs

Staff / Official Induction Training Records (pdf)

This form should be used to record all relevant training including initial induction on first day of work. Organisations are encouraged to sign off the skills listed if the staff member can demonstrate previous experience.

Helmet Register (pdf)

Your helmet register should record every helmet by size, your site’s identification marks, brand, colour, serial number, the Standard which covers it as well as the date of manufacture.
